Despite the team turning up in dribs and drabs due to some horrendous hold-ups on the M25, Grace's set about reversing earlier results between the two teams.
A fine opening partnership between Shorrocks and Camberwell saw Grace's to 78 at a rate of 6 an over. The fall of the first wicket brought no relief for the Caterham bowlers as Whitmore coming in at number three took his toll of the bowling. Three quick wickets proved a false dawn for Caterham as Whitmore was joined by Mappin in a brutal stand of 152 in 13 overs with Mappin hitting 98 not out in just 42 balls, and Whitmore sacrificing his wicket going for an impossible run to get his partner on strike.
A total of 269 was far too much for the home team and such a score enabled skipper Hardisty to experiment with his bowling attack, all of whom responded. Ahkter was again outstanding with figures of 7 overs, 3 maidens, 3 wickets for 26, with each of the other five bowlers used claiming a wicket apiece. In all a rather too easy win.
