Another toss won by Grace's and Bielby had no hesitation in batting first on a hot and sunny day. Swinburne and Shofiq had a 105 opening stand, with Swinburne smacking 74 and Shofiq belting 45 before Rishafi’s fine form continued with 70 splendid runs, continuing as the most consistent batsmen this season for Grace's. A welcome return for Poole and Braybrook allowed Grace's to reach 263–7 from 35 overs.
We didn't know how strong our Sri Lankan friends were, and in reply they scored 53 for no wicket against the bowling of Fawaz and Bishry. Shofiq then came on and proceeded to clean up the Wanderers, taking a hat-trick in the process and ending with 6 wickets for 7 runs from 3 overs.
An incredible set of bowling figures, and unbelievably, they want to play against us again next year with a stronger side. Fantastic spirit and they have invited us to their Christmas Dinner too. Grace's won by 155 runs and we expect a stronger reply next year.
