North Croydon CC 2nd XI v Grace's CC, 16 May 2004

Due to bad weather at the start of the season, the game against Wenlock Arms was cancelled at Mill Hill. However, Grace's returned from their Spanish tour and won convincingly against North Croydon 2nd XI. Grace's bowled North Croydon out for a paltry 84 runs, with Dekock taking 2 wickets from 3 overs for 4 runs and Shofiq taking 2 wickets for 10 runs from 4 overs. The skipper took the opportunity to share the bowling around and give North Croydon an opportunity to score a few runs. A total of eight bowlers were used!

Camberwell and Hardisty opened the batting for Grace's, but struggled to make any impression against the effective swing bowling of Patel. After Hardisty's 7-ball duck, it was left to Stockinger who took 21 balls to reach 3 runs, and Camberwell (8 in 33 balls) to see off Patel, who bowled 11 overs in a timed game. After a 50-run second-wicket partnership, Camberwell succumbed to Patel's swing bowling. Rishafi came to the crease to support Stockinger who scored 55 not out to take the team home in convincing style. Rishafi finished on 15 not out. We then had a beer match, with every player getting one 8-ball over, and needless to say, Grace's romped home again, although North Croydon put up a much better effort.
